A new look for the University of Liverpool’s Career Studio
We’ve recently completed a fantastic brand-led project, in collaboration with the University of Liverpool (UoL), to transform a space for students to shape their future careers.
With a careers service building that was looking a little tired, dark and underused UoL wanted to breathe new energy back into it and make it a vibrant hub for their refreshed careers and employability service. Taking inspiration from the American University in Washington D.C., UoL aspired to create an innovative space which provides students with career inspiration, resources and opportunities from day one of their time at university.
We were commissioned by UoL to be their creative partner and bring this ambition to life. Working closely with the Careers and Employability team throughout, we initially focused on the development of a core identity that would provide a flexible visual language for use across a multitude of digital and printed channels, in addition to the physical environment of the space itself.
The identity focused on a honeycomb structure, synonymous with a sense of industry and commitment, qualities that UoL strives to encourage amongst its students. While a bright and vibrant colour scheme was applied across the three zones within the space - Explore, Connect and Apply - to inject a sense of energy and capture the imagination of the students.
Within the short space of just three months, our work moved from this initial identity development through to designing the interior layout and furniture within the space, creating window, wall and floor graphics, producing two animations, designing digital banners and multiple leaflets, and much more!
This has been a fantastic project to be a part of, and the new Career Studio has already welcomed a thousand more students than it has done in previous years since launch.
